Project ECHO Founder Honored by the National Academy of Medicine

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sanjeev Arora, founder of Project ECHO, has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Gustav O. Lienhard Award for Advancement of Health Care, one of the National Academy of Medicine’s highest honors.

The Lienhard Award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions toward improving health care services in the United States. Recipients are selected by a NAM committee under criteria that include quantitative and qualitative evidence of positive change, leadership, and overcoming barriers. With support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the award includes a medal and a $40,000 prize.

Sanjeev Arora’s visionary leadership in developing Project ECHO has transformed health care delivery by expanding access, strengthening knowledge sharing, and supporting community-based providers. We congratulate Dr. Arora on this well-deserved recognition!
